Governor’s Camp – Masai Mara
Governors' Camp is situated in Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve, in a wooded region beside the Mara River, whose waters are teeming with bird life, hippo, and crocodiles. This spectacular wildlife area is purposely left unfenced so that tourists may get up up and personal with the animals without leaving the comfort of their tent.
It was established in 1972, and it revolutionised the standard for contemporary luxury camps by providing guests with amenities, service, and food that were unheard of during the peak of the grand safari. Governors' Camp, located on the banks of the Mara River and overlooking the Mara Plains, is a favourite of frequent tourists due to its high level of service, breathtaking scenery, innovative architecture, and friendly staff.
All visitors are housed in traditional canvas tents, a nod to the safari's origins. Traditionally, Governors have their daily meals outdoors, under the tree canopy of the riverine forest. Our guests will be serenaded by the nighttime rubbing of tents by grazing animals as they sleep.
