Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge

Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge is a Rwandan lodge owned by the local community and located on 31 acres of property in front of the Virunga Mountains. Not only is it the first lodge ever constructed in Rwanda, but it is also one of the few lodges that was commissioned by a governor.

The community trust SACOLA, which runs the lodge, makes sure that the money made there goes toward community programmes. African Wildlife Foundation helps fund the SACOLA. The resort has generated almost $4 million in revenue thus far.

Six deluxe cabins and one family home, all with wooden decks, are scattered across the lodge's verdant grounds.
