Budongo Eco Lodge
Budongo Eco Lodge has a picturesque site deep inside Budongo Forest, and it provides lodging and other services to tourists who come to the area to take in its breathtaking scenery and learn about the unique flora and wildlife that call it home. Budongo and Kaniyo Pabidi rain forests are a part of the larger Murchison Falls National Park. The forest is under the management of the National Forest Authority which is in charge of all activities including chimp tracking.
The location is strategically placed for those on a Uganda safari that includes visits to Murchison falls National Park
The main building of Budongo Eco Lodge has a large lounge with comfortable couches and a quiet nook with cushioned benches for briefings on forest activities, a small but well-stocked “waterhole” bar, and a small gift/crafts shop where members of the local community can put their wares on display for sale.
A skilled cook runs the modest but efficient kitchen, which provides straightforward and delectable continental fare with an African twist.
A modest library and free WiFi are also accessible in the main building.
Accommodation Facilities
Accommodation facilities consist of six en-suite, small-scale eco-log cabins, each in a block of two, which are available for guests to stay in. These cabins are located deep inside the dense forest for optimum seclusion. There are also either 1 King Size Bed or 2 Twin Beds in each roomy cabin, as well as an additional daybed that may be utilised as a third bed for triple occupancy. Each features a sitting room and its own veranda with views of the forest.
Four dormitory rooms, each with two bunk beds and a maximum of four people per room, are also available. These rooms are very popular with school and college groups that would typically enjoy camping but can now live in comfort and convenience thanks to clean sheets, with shower and toilet, a nearby restaurant, a lounge, and free WiFi inside the main building.
